This is the most fun bike I’ve ever owned

I got this bike for fun, and man is it fun. With the riser bars the position is more upright so it’s super comfortable. It was pretty easy to assemble (but I’m a mechanic so I have some experience). For the price point, this is a fantastic bike. I can’t recommend it enough.

Great bike, short chain.

My bike is beautiful. My only complaint is the chain--It's too short. This is my third single speed (other brands). On my other two bikes I elected to install larger free wheels to give me riding options. That way you can flip the wheel depending on your riding choices any particular day. I purchased a 20T freewheel for around the neighborhood riding. The standard 16T is a bit aggressive for casual, easy riding. To my dismay, I couldn't attach the existing chain to the 20T freewheel because the chain is cut for a 16T. There's no slack--tight as a drum. I had to purchase a new chain and have the shop measure it out so I can use both the 16T and 20T. I think a bit more forethought by State Bicycle Company should go into the supplied chain on their single speed bikes. A couple of additional chain links would assure better versatility for its riding customers.

Truely one of the Top Ten Greatest Bikes Ever

I recently bought the Pigeon - Core-Line which was reviewed by Bicycling last Summer, and it is an amazingly simple fun machine. The riser bars with Vans grips are super comfortable the gear ratio is good for local commuting and bar hoping. I live less then 5 miles from the warehouse and the State Bicycle Rideshop in Tempe, so I ordered it with local pickup at the Rideshop. The $35 fee to pickup local includes the professional bike build needed to activate warranty. The frame has clearance and mounts for racks and fenders great for commuters. The bike also has a flip flop hub, so you can ride fixed or free wheel. Great simple bike for a low price and the Anode Red Bottle cage matches perfectly..

$299 you outta your mind!

I was deciding between this bike and another budget friendly bike. The "other" brand was $100 cheaper. However, I went for the SBC $299 Core-line Pigeon model because I felt it was a better bang for my buck! The whole process was easy and quick. Assembly was super easy, but make sure you check all the bolts. My cog and lockring needed to be tightened, The ride is smooth and quiet for a budget fixed gear bike. The steel frame really feels solid on the roads. I will probably replace most of the components at some point, but I plan just to ride it until things start to break. Hopefully, that will be much later than sooner. So, If you are looking for a Solid entry level budget friendly bike, you can't go wrong with this one. With that I say Get out and ride...One gear at time!

Best out of box feeling

Best out of the box experience I have had. I was a little hesitant if I was going to enjoy the fixie life but after first miles, I was sold. It has a nice spring for take-off and handles like my semi-carbon bike. I would give it a 5 but that stock saddle is brutal but hey, easy to change. I love the dark grey and the red hubs. I cant wait to keep riding.
